You can’t afford to hire relief for them, and you can’t give them any more money than you already do. To reduce the risk of losing them all together, it’s time to come up with some interesting incentives to keep them around. Much of the time, employees just need some appreciation and a morale boost, so here’s a few ways to give them both.

The Ability to Move Around

Employees sometimes love working on projects that aren’t their own for a little while. You can reward some employees with the ability to do just that. A good way to do this is to allow certain trustworthy employees the ability to work in another department for a day or two. They’re learning, they’re doing what they’re required to do, and they can pursue a project on the side that looks interesting to them. “Giving them the opportunity to continue their current responsibilities and take on additional work on the side or within the company in different departments of their interest is a great incentive. They're still doing what they're required, yet providing more value by helping other areas on their free time,” says Cameron Keng, company owner.

Happy Hours

Almost every employee loves ending their day with something fun to do. It helps them unwind and rebalance themselves for yet another long day ahead tomorrow. Instead of sending them out the door, invite the office to meet in the communal area of your building. Bring beer, pizza, and music to enjoy so everyone can socialize and have a moment to relax. A more expensive option is going to a local bar or restaurant and banning any talk about work so everyone can get to know one another on a deeper level.
